Oregon e-cycles Program
The state of Oregon has implemented a FREE recycling program for computers, monitors, and televisions. What is NOT included are: mice, keyboards, printers, copiers, scanners, cell phones and other electronics including appliances.
The Oregon e-cycles website has additional information. What is not outwardly apparent is how to locate a participating recycler. After calling their toll free number, I was directed to look on the right hand side of the page, away from all the standard navigation… Viola! there is the link for participating recyclers.
Be sure to fully erase your hard drive before taking in a computer!
Ridin’ The Rails
We spent the better part of Labor Day riding the Max light rail transit system. Started in Hillsboro – dead headed to Gresham for 1 hour and 45 minutes. Worked our way back to downtown Portland. Then rode out to the Exposition Center and back. That was good for another hour. Arrived back in Hillsboro about 8:30 pm.
Debra got a lot of knitting done. I read a book. We spent all day together traveling and seeing Portland from the inside of the electric train. We’ll finish the other half of the system at a later date.
